March 9.  Visit Lake Norman held its 2nd annual “Making Waves” hospitality awards luncheon to honor workers in the Cornelius, Davidson and Huntersville hotel industry. The 2014 award winners are Vanessa Burris, Housekeeper with the Davidson Village Inn (Outshines from the Front Lines), Laurine Desantis, Guest Service Representative with the Comfort Inn & Suites in Cornelius (Outshines from the Front Lines), Jessica (JP) Piotrowski, Director of Sales with the Hampton in Lake Norman in Cornelius & Hampton Inn & Suites Huntersville (Stellar Seller) and Linda Huffman, General Manager with the Clarion in Cornelius (Lead to Succeed). The Outshines from the Front Lines Award recognizes a guest service representative or back of the house employee that is an extraordinary ambassador of Lake Norman and consistently provides exemplary customer service to guests.  The Stellar Seller Award recognizes an individual with an outstanding sales performance and has a record of generating new revenue.  The Lead to Succeed Award recognizes an individual that demonstrates superior professional management and leadership skills.
