April 3. Pleased with its performance in Birkdale Village, Williams-Sonoma Inc.—the world’s largest digital-first, design-led and sustainable home retail conglomerate—will open a Pottery Barn there in time for the holiday shopping season.
Pottery Barn will take over the former Total Wine space at 8709 Townley Road, not far from the new Cheesecake Factory. The total spend to redo the space is between $1 million and $3 million, according to Dodge Construction.

Pottery Barn: Upscale style
Birkdale will be the second Charlotte location for the upscale furniture and home decor chain, the first being SouthPark. Williams-Sonoma has been a mainstay of Birkdale Village, for years at 16740 Birkdale Commons Pkwy, Suite A.
Earnings for companies in the Specialty Retail industry have grown 10 percent per year over the last three years. Revenues for these companies have grown 11 percent per year.
