Dec. 8. Kayla Kovach is the new sustainability manager for the Town of Davidson. She has a master’s in science degree in Environmental Engineering from Clemson University, with a focus on Sustainable Systems. Hera bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering is from the University of Cincinnati. Kovach previously served as an Environmental Engineer at SLR Consulting where she provided sustainability, stormwater, Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC), air and hazardous waste assistance to facilities across a variety of industries.

As a licensed professional engineer in the state of North Carolina and a member of the Carolinas Air Pollution Control Association, she also has experience with sustainable manufacturing and management of federal contracts for remedial investigations of varying scope and size.

In 2022, the Davidson Board of Commissioners identified Sustainability as a priority goal in their Strategic Plan. Town leaders recognize the importance in creating and maintaining a vibrant, equitable community and economy while protecting the natural environment for future generations.
