July 9. Uwharrie Capital Corp. has changed the name of it’s wealth management subsidiary, Strategic Investment Advisors, to Uwharrie Investment Advisors Inc.

The Albemarle-based financial company says the anchor name of the parent company provides a single, cohesive presence.

Uwharrie Capital and its subsidiaries, which serve Anson, Cabarrus and Stanly counties, dates back more than 30 years.  Aligning the organizations’ names helps build market recognition and prepare for future market growth under a unified brand, the company said.

Uwharrie Investment Advisors has over $150 million under management and represents local families, businesses and non-profit organizations.

“Our new name reflects our roots here in the Uwharrie Mountains region of North Carolina, known for its strong, solid foundation,” said Roger Dick, CEO of Uwharrie Capital Corp.  “This helps us articulate our values, philosophy and mission to be a trusted financial partner for generations to come.”
