Sept. 2. Charlotte-based SPX Corp. has acquired ULC Robotics, a leading developer of robotic systems, for an undisclosed amount. ULC is a pioneer in the field of Robotics-as-a-Service (RaaS), including a custom R&D business that provides cutting edge technology solutions to a growing base of utility and industrial customers.

ULC, headquartered in Hauppauge, NY, has annual revenue in the $40 million range. Once integrated, the ULC business is anticipated to be accretive to SPX’s Detection & Measurement segment margin.

Charlotte-based SPX is a $1.5 billion (revenue) supplier of highly engineered products and technologies, holding leadership positions in the HVAC, detection and measurement, and engineered solutions markets.  It has 4,500 employees in 17 countries. More info: www.spx.com.
