Nov. 19. The Town of Davidson will observe “Small Business Saturday” on Saturday, Nov. 30 by encouraging residents and visitors to kick off their holiday season by shopping locally and supporting local retail establishments.
Quotable
“Supporting local businesses is important to the well-being of our town,” said Economic Development Director Kim Fleming. “So many of our local Davidson businesses support the town by hiring members of the community to their workforces, donating to our non-profit organizations, and sponsoring events. It’s a chance to return the favor by supporting them during Small Business Saturday and throughout the entire holiday shopping season.”
Background
American Express launched Small Business Saturday in 2010 to support local places that make communities strong. Small Business Saturday encourages holiday shoppers to patronize brick-and-mortar businesses that are small and local.
