Fifty new wayfinding signs with the slogan “Discover a Healthy Life” have been erected in Kannapolis to help residents and visitors alike find key locations within the city limits.
Kannapolis, the home of the North Carolina Research Campus, hopes to continue to brand the city around healthy and active lifestyles with signage for key attractions like Village Park, the Kannapolis Intimidators Stadium, the Gem Theatre and the N.C. Music Hall of Fame.
The new signs create an easily recognizable comprehensive and cohesive system for residents and visitors. Signage at public facilities such as park locations was also replaced. The total cost is around $250,000.
”Through signage we are able to tell the story of our City brand using the city colors, logo, landscaping, and names of our most popular locations,” spokeswoman Annette Keller said.
The City is also collaborating with the Cabarrus Convention and Visitors Bureau and the Salisbury & Rowan County Convention and Visitor’s Bureau to incorporate countywide signage. There will also be gateway structures at the I-85 exits welcoming people to the City of Kannapolis as part of a joint project with North Carolina Department of Transportation.
