June 22. A home on Flying Jib Road in The Peninsula has sold for $6,250,000.
The six-bedroom, 9,894-square-foot mansion on Lake Norman across from the Peninsula Yacht Club changed hands last week for a cool $632 per square foot.
The home was listed by Lance Carlyle of Cornelius-based Carlyle Properties.
The home on Flying Jib was built in 2007. According to a real estate listing, the gated, three level home sits on 1.3 acres with over 550 feet on the lake. It is assessed at $4.67 million, according to Mecklenburg County tax records.

Lakefront estates are garnering record prices. The Flying Jib deal set a new one for this year.
In October, a stunning 7,800-square foot waterfront home at 16914 Belle Isle Drive changed hands at $5.25 million, which was the highest price for a residential sale to that date in 2020 in Cornelius.
