Jan. 19. By Dave Yochum. The Parks Automotive Group, with Audi, BMW, Buick, Chevrolet and Ford stores from Richmond, Va. to Spartanburg, SC, is acquiring a brand they don’t have—Chrysler.

Robin and Jack Salzman, long-time fixtures in the Lake Norman business community, yesterday sold Lake Norman Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram and Gastonia Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram for an undisclosed amount.

Background

Over the past two decades, the Salzmans sold more than 70,000 vehicles and serviced more than 1 million customers, achieving the No. 1 sales position at Chrysler 88 months in a row.

Along the way the Salzmans were active members of the business community as well as generous supporters of charitable causes.

Jack Salzman received the Duke Energy Citizenship & Service Award and the TIME Dealer of the Year award.

He said the real hero in their community work was Robin Salzman who will continue her philanthropic efforts with the Giving With Grace Foundation.

A 55,000 square foot state-of-the-art new car facility will open this spring on nearby Chartown. The existing dealership on Torrence Chapel will become a used-car facility.
