Oct. 4. With the eighth-largest manufacturing economy in the United States, and the largest manufacturing workforce in the southeast, manufacturing remains essential to the success of every sector of North Carolina’s economy.

Multiplier effect: For every $1 spent in manufacturing, $1.81 is generated for North Carolina’s economy.
Manufacturing’s share of new economic development announcements: 68 percent
New jobs in manufacturing: 21,940
New investments in manufacturing: $17.2 billion.
Contribution to state GDP: $114 billion
NC manufacturing workforce: 472,000
New manufacturing jobs since 2017: 70,500
