Dec. 8. The mayors of Charlotte, Concord and Cornelius have been elected to leadership roles on the N.C. Metropolitan Mayors Coalition, a bipartisan group representing the mayors of the state’s larger cities. Charlotte Mayor Jennifer Roberts and Concord Mayor Scott Padgett will serve on the executive committee, while Cornelius Mayor Chuck Travis will serve as vice chair. The mayoral group works with the General Assembly and Executive Branch for policies that “create high quality economic development, invest in transportation networks and promote public safety across the state.”
