April 5. After extensive renovations, a lakefront house in The Peninsula that transacted at $1.4 million in 2019 has sold for $3.8 million after two months on the market. It’s a record price based on square footage.
The 3,884 square foot home at 17605 Spinnaker’s Reach sold for more than $900 a square foot, according to listing agent Marzia Mazzotti of Premier Sotheby’s International Realty in Cornelius. (Square footage is from Mecklenburg County property records.)
The house sits on a lakefront point lot with 175 feet of lake frontage, a private dock and wide open views of Lake Norman.
There is a wall of windows lakeside, as well as four en suite bedrooms, a chef’s kitchen and a wine cellar.
A new salt water swimming pool and cabana were installed in the backyard.
The house was originally listed at $4 million in January, according to Zillow. Flint Foley of eXp Realty represented the buyers.
Most expensive listing right now
The most expensive home on the market in Lake Norman is a 15,000-square-foot estate at 18019 Harbor Light in Cornelius. It went on the market in August.
