“We’ve tossed the idea around for years, but now you’re finally getting Sundays at Kindred,” the announcement said.

The hours on Sunday will be 5-9 pm for the full-service kitchen and bar in downtown Davidson.

Kindred is the result of a husband-and-wife pair  — Joe, a chef, and Katy, a sommelier, Kindred — who met in Chicago, spent years working in  San Francisco restaurants, and then settled in his hometown to open a restaurant. The weekly menus are driven by the seasons, presenting a perspective on the contemporary cuisine of the new South, according to the restaurant website.

They also operate Hello Sailor in Cornelius and Milkbread in Davidson.

Location: Kindred Restaurant, 131 N. Main St., Davidson.

Hours: 5-10 pm Tuesday to Saturday; 5-9 pm Sundays (starting March 30): closed Mondays
