Cornelius business leader among EY Entrepreneur of the Year finalists in the Southeast

April 22. Twelve of the 36 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year 2025 Southeast nominees are from North Carolina, one of them—Mike Griffin— is from Cornelius.

Mike Griffin is a partner at Griffin Brothers Cos., which includes ZoomUp, an investment and consulting company that looks to acquire and/or partner with reputable family companies that don’t have an exit strategy. ZoomUp Consulting Services also looks to help companies navigate out of “No Mans Land” and tap into their growth potential.

Griffin Brothers Cos. began in 1961 as a tire shop in Charlotte’s Historic West End and has since grown into a diversified family business spanning waste management, real estate, hospitality and portfolio investments.

The program honors entrepreneurs whose innovations shape the future and pave the way for a thriving economy and a hopeful tomorrow.

An independent panel of judges selected 36 finalists from Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee for their entrepreneurial spirit, purpose, growth and building long-term value.
