Oct. 16. Cornelius resident William Rakatansky has been appointed by Gov. Cooper to the NC General Contractors Licensing Board.
The board is responsible for contractor licensing, education and regulation of all contractors in the state.
Rakatansky is a licensed architect in North Carolina and five other states, and was elected as a Fellow of the American Institute of Architects in 2009.
He was also a member of the Cornelius Town Board from 1993 to 1995, and served on the Planning Board from 1995 to 1997.
