Allen Tate President Gary Scott named president of Howard Hanna Virginia

March 4. Gary Scott has been appointed president of Howard Hanna Virginia and will continue his current role as president of Allen Tate Companies | Howard Hanna.

Scott will lead strategic initiatives to align the Carolinas and Virginia markets, fostering enhanced collaboration and development.

Scott will continue in his current role in the Carolinas as president, where he oversees residential real estate operations; essential services of mortgage, insurance, relocation and title; strategic market growth/expansion and agent recruiting across the Carolinas.

Scott has more than 35 years of experience in the real estate industry and has held positions with multiple brokerage firms covering the mid-Atlantic region from New York to the Carolinas, including B. Gary Scott Realtors, Prudential Preferred Properties, Patterson Schwartz, and Long & Foster® Real Estate.

Scott served as general sales manager and senior vice president of Allen Tate Realtors from 1998-2010, and returned to lead the company in his current role in November 2021.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from Bucknell University and currently serves on their Real Estate Advisory Board. He was named to the 2025 Swanepoel Power 200 list and Real Estate Newsmakers by RISMedia.
