Central Piedmont Community College and Mecklenburg County are launching the “What’s Next Seminar Series” to help existing businesses reach their next stage of growth. The free program, which begins Aug. 14, and will include sessions in August, September and October. Entrepreneurs from across the region who have customers, revenue and a desire to grow are invited. You can attend either online or in person at Central Piedmont’s Small Business Center, located on the college’s Central Campus. Here’s what the program looks like:
Planning for Growth – August 14 | 8:30 -10:30 a.m.
Take a look at the broad concept of growth and narrow it down into actionable steps to achieve scalability. Will focus on identifying and setting strategic goals, the big vision, understanding key focus areas as well as primary challenges and stages of growth.
Scaling Operations: Linking Strategy to Execution – August 28 | 8:30 -10:30 a.m.
Define all components of the business and learn the importance of developing infrastructure and systems and processes.
Hiring for the Long Haul – September 11 | 8:30 -10:30 a.m.
Identifying hiring needs, designing positions, matching the right people to the position(s) and making sure they fit with your existing team and culture.
Scaling Sales and Marketing – September 25 | 8:30 -10:30 a.m.
Sales and marketing are like burger and fries. You can have each alone but they are the best together. Learn how to align your sales and marketing efforts and get tips for creating go-to strategies to help scale your business.
Funding Growth and Your Financial Dashboard Measures – October 9 | 8:30 -10:30 a.m.
Eighty-two percent of businesses fail due to poor cash flow management. Discover how to monitor, measure and interpret the health of your business using your financial dashboard. Learn about different methods to fund organizational growth.
Tales of Growth – October 23 | 8:30 -10:30 a.m.
Lessons from two entrepreneurs on how they shifted from working in the business to working on the business. Discover what steps they took and strategies they implemented to achieve growth. Learn about the challenges they faced, how they decide which ideas are worth pursuing and which they leave by the wayside. Featured entrepreneurs this session will be Chris Elmore, AvidXchange, and Matt Ewers, Grandfather Homes.
