The Kilted Buffalo and Savory Moments named 2016 Small Businesses of the Year by the Lake Norman Chamber
Two Huntersville businesses were named Small Business of the Year by the Lake Norman Chamber of Commerce. Savory Moments and Kilted Buffalo were recognized for their entrepreneurship, growth, and community involvement. Incoming Chamber Chairman Jay Lesemann Jr. was on hand to make the presentation along with the mayors of Cornelius, Davidson and Huntersville.
Runners up were My Aloha Paddle and Surf in Cornelius and Rose & Associates in Davidson. Honorable Mentions also went to A1 Vacuum Solutions in Huntersville, A&B Tire & Automotive in Cornelius, and Moliver Chiropractic in Davidson.
Savory Moments was started in 2009 by sisters Heather Scovel and Jodi Wight. The catering business has seven full-time employees.
Shawn Shrader opened Kilted Buffalo in Birkdale Village five years ago. The business combined the concepts of “contemporary barbershop” with “neighborhood pub.” Shrader has a second location in Langtree at the Lake.
