March 17. 20-year retail banking executive Jay Attanucci is returning to NewDominion Bank as director of retail banking. Attanucci served as the bank’s retail banking executive from 2011 to 2014.
In his new role, he will be responsible for leading the retail, premier banking, and client service center teams. This includes enhancing the client experience, managing the future branching strategy, and exploring alternative ways to deliver products and services.
“Jay’s return to NewDominion Bank is timely and yet another indication of our continued progress and focus on the future,” said NewDominion Bank CEO Blaine Jackson. “Retail banking is a major growth area for us and Jay is the best person to lead this effort as we continue to pursue our goal of doubling the size of the bank in the next five years.”
Since leaving NewDominion Bank in 2014, Attanucci has served as director of CRA lending and business development for Bank of the Ozarks, where he was responsible for developing, implementing and administering all aspects of the bank’s Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) Compliance Program. Before that, he spent 11 years as regional manager, vice president at Fifth Third Bank, where he managed all aspects of sales and operations for 11 retail financial centers. From 2000 to 2008, he was with First Charter Bank, also in retail banking roles. He spent the first five years of his career with Bell Federal Savings and Loan as a branch manager.
“NewDominion’s focus on enhancing the customer experience and delivering innovative products and services is directly in line with my background and thinking,” said Attanucci. “This opportunity and the new leadership made me jump at the chance to return.”
Attanucci is a graduate of Duquesne University with a B.A. in Finance. He, his wife Paula, and son Joseph live in Mooresville.
