March 3. Several local business leaders were honored at the Lake Norman Chamber of Commerce gala and annual meeting at The Peninsula Club recently as Brian Sisson with The Range of Lake Norman was installed as Chairman of the Board. In addition:
—Mike Cook from Cavin Cook Funeral Home and Crematory, was named the Robert T. Cashion Business Person of the Year. He started working at Cavin Funeral Home on Main Street iin Mooresville when he was 17.
—Joshua Tarbutton, founder and CEO of Bravo Team in Cornelius received The McIntosh Law Firm’s Passion to Succeed Award for the 2024 Entrepreneur of the Year
—Beth Cashion from the ABNO Group received the Starrett Service Award presented to the Outstanding Board Member of the Year.
—Bill Leonard from Atrium Health was honored with the Chairman’s Distinguished Service Award.
—Brent Thompson from Auto Glass Experts, was recognized as the 2024 Carbon Ambassador of the Year.
—Deb Siler with The Breathing Room was named the Chamber’s Volunteer of the Year.
—Caroline Doble from the Davidson Village Inn received the John R. Cherry Community Service Award for her outstanding work in the community. Tarte said, “The Davidson Turkey Trot
—John Hettwer, president and CEO of Payroll Plus also received the John R. Cherry Community Service Award for his efforts to provide relief Hurricane Helene victims in Western North Carolina
Last year’s Chamber Board chair, Jeff Tarte, presided over the annual meeting.
