Retired diversity officer at Duke Energy will speak at LKN Chamber luncheon

Sept. 24. The Lake Norman Chamber of Commerce will host its Diversity Luncheon Thursday, featuring Joni Davis, the former chief diversity and inclusion officer at Duke Energy.

Background

As chief diversity officer, she was responsible for developing and executing strategies to build on a strong culture of diversity, equity and inclusion to strengthen the company’s workforce and leadership team, as well as the communities served.

She was also Duke Energy chief of staff, working closely with the CEO and senior management team to develop strategic priorities.

JONI DAVIS

Davis serves as the chair of the Harvey B. Gantt Center for African American Arts + Culture and chair of the Hugh McColl Center’s strategic advisors. She is the past chair of the Novant Health Piedmont Region board of trustees and is a past board member of Blumenthal Performing Arts, Foundation for the Carolinas-Charlotte Mecklenburg Community Foundation, Leadership Charlotte, Prevent Child Abuse NC, and the NC Center for Non-Profits.

At the luncheon, the Chamber will also recognize individuals and local business who promote diversity, equity and inclusion.
