Sen. Marcus amasses campaign war chest in bid for NC Commissioner of Insurance

July 17. Campaign reports for NC Sen. Natasha Marcus, the Democratic nominee for NC Commissioner of Insurance, and Mike Causey, the incumbent, show Marcus well ahead of her Republican opponent.

Marcus, who represents NC District 41, which includes Cornelius, said her campaign raised an unprecedented $281,092—the largest-ever fundraising report posted by a candidate for NC insurance commissioner, regardless of affiliation.

Causey raised $38,035 and had $43,812 on hand, compared to Marcus, a Davidson resident, with $411,719 cash on hand.

Election Day is Tuesday Nov. 5.
