June 26. Huntersville native Conrad Hunter opened Foxcroft Wine Co.’s newest location in Birkdale Village Wednesday. The company’s fifth location has a prime spot overlooking the community gathering space, more than 40 wines available by the glass and a food menu is inspired by wine-driven cultures.

“Elevated classics” like House-Ground Burger and Truffle Fries, charcuterie boards, scratch made-small plates, fresh-made pasta dishes and seasonally inspired steak and seafood entrées are on the menu as well as their signature dessert—donuts.

In addition to its first location in the historic Foxcroft neighborhood near South Park, Foxcroft Wine is also in Dilworth and Waverly in Charlotte and in Greenville, SC.

“This is truly a full circle moment for me,” says Hunter, an eighth generation Mecklenburg County native. “Huntersville was named after my Grandfather’s Great Uncle, Robert Boston Hunter. Of Scottish descent, the first Hunters originally settled here via Ireland prior to the American Revolution. And much of my extended family still lives in Northern Mecklenburg County.”

Guests can have a bottle tableside at the sticker price or bring it home at a 25 percent discount. There is also an Online Wine Shop, as well as the opportunity to join the popular Foxcroft Wine Club where you can subscribe to receive two bottles per month, as well as complimentary participation in monthly wine tastings. The restaurant will also host monthly ticketed Wine Dinner Events centered on a theme, wine region, or featured producer hosted by an expert guest speaker.
