Food drive at Trane in Davidson

Dec. 13. Employees at Trane Technologies’ North American headquarters in Davidson paccked a 48-foot trailer with over 6,700 lbs. of non-perishable food items to help combat rising food insecurity rates among local families.

The items were donated in equal amounts to FeedNC and Loaves & Fishes.

A growing need

The need for food is at an all-time high. This year, Loaves & Fishes has served over 112,000 individuals, with half of those being children and seniors, while FeedNC has served around 6,000 people in Mecklenburg, Iredell and Cabarrus counties.

North Carolina has the eighth highest rate of food insecurity in the nation while nearly 15 percent of households in Mecklenburg County are considered food insecure.
