July 22. Nathan Huret is the new economic development director at the Catawba County Economic Development Corp. He’ll be in charge of new business recruitment, targeted marketing, and lead generation, while continuing to oversee the EDC’s existing industry retention and expansion program.

He was first hired by the EDC in 2007 as existing industry coordinator before moving on to the NC State University Industry Expansion Solutions in 2013. Two years later he returned to the EDC.

Mick Berry, retired Catawba County manager, is joining the EDC as part-time development manager.

Berry will be responsible for uncovering and facilitating the development of new sites and business park opportunities throughout the county.
