Nov. 29. A one-of-a-kind Mediterranean style villa on Jetton Road has sold for $7 million in a private transaction. The home has spectacular views of Lake Norman, five bedrooms and 6.5 baths in more than 12,000 square feet of space.
It also has a barrel tile roof, an elevator, and two master suites, not to mention seven fireplaces and a six-burner Wolf range.
According to a previous listing for the .69 acre property, the three-story home has a wine room, entertainment bar, billiards and media room on the lake level.
The home, which is in the 16000 block of Jetton, transacted privately and did not go through Canopy MLS.
Inventory: Historic low
Allen Tate Realtor Christina Stone, who specializes in high-end properties, said inventory is at a “historic low” as demand outpaces supply.
“We are continuing to experience unprecedented demand for exquisite waterfront and golf course properties within the greater Peninsula neighborhood. The area continues to attract both out of town and local buyers, looking to experience the Lake Norman lifestyle,” she said.
Mecklenburg County assessed the home at $3,887,700.
High-dollar transactions
The $7 million price-tag appears to be the highest sale price in Cornelius in the past year.
Other high-dollar homes include 16700 Tinker Place, $6.6 million; 16602 Flying Jib, $6.25 million; and 16101 Jetton, $5.4 million.
The new $7 million transaction in Cornelius ranks among the priciest transactions in Charlotte, but it’s still not the highest.
A five-bed, six bath home on Hempstead Place in Charlotte sold for $7.7 million in May. The home, built in 1955, is 10,613 square feet.
