March 12. Huntersville’s old police station will change hands for $1.799 million, pending Town Board approval Monday March 15. The buyer: 760 Craft Works which is expected to open a craft brewery.

“We are excited to have 760 Craft Works bring to our downtown a brewery. Its location on the currently being constructed greenway trailhead will make it an ideal destination. Their investment is another indication of the accelerating interest in the revitalization of downtown Huntersville,” said Mayor John Aneralla.

The 23-year-old building is part of a 1.7 acre three-parcel site.

The initial bid on the building by 760 Craft was $1.5 million but the price increased as HFW Huntersville and 760 Craft increased their bids. Ultimately, the $1.799 million offer from 760 Craft was selected by the town.

Permitted uses for the 8,000 square-foot building include bars, restaurants and clubs.
