Aug. 25. Last week, the North Carolina Craft Brewers Guild held its 9th annual NC Brewers Cup competition, the largest single state commercial competition in the Southeast.

 Medals were awarded in 32 style-based beer categories, with Cabarrrus Brewing Company, 329 McGill Ave., Concord taking first place in Session IPA for its Driveway Sesh; third place American Lager for its Baller Beer; and third place European Amber Lager for #DADGAMESTRONG.

 The 2020 Beer Judge Certification Program sanctioned beer competition judged 636 entries submitted from 94 North Carolina breweries.

The 2020 Best of Show has been awarded to Carolina Brewery in Raleigh for their “Copperline Amber Ale,” which competed against 31 other gold medal-winning beers to secure the top award.
