Harrisburg development is topic of Sept. 6 town meeting

Aug. 31. Residents, business owners and people who work in Harrisburg are invited to give the town input on future development near the Mecklenburg County line at an upcoming town meeting.

Harrisburg is seeking public comments on on the type of commercial and residential development planned for Morehead West area, which is bordered by N.C. 49, Morehead Road and U.S. 29. The area is undergoing analysis as part of the economic development planning process.

Information on greenway connectivity, business uses and entertainment options will be incorporated into the final Morehead West Small Area Plan to guide decisions about investments and infrastructure to benefit the entire community.

The meeting to discuss Harrisburg development will take place Tuesday, Sept. 6, from 6-8 p.m. at Harrisburg Town Hall, 4100 Main St. The meeting is free and open to the public.
