$14 million expansion in Huntersville for Pactiv plant

Pactiv LogoDec. 6. Prairie Brookwood is building a 324,480-square-foot warehouse expansion for tenant Pactiv LLC in Huntersville. The $14 million expansion more than doubles the size of Pactiv’s round-the-clock facility.

Pactive, which makes food service disposables and food packaging, will gain 35 new loading docks. The company has more than 11,000 employees in seven countries.

Prairie was the first tenant in Commerce Station Park, which is a partnership of the towns of Davidson, Huntersville and Cornelius.

Prairie officials called Commerce Station an “excellent model for government and private industry working together to create good jobs for a community.”

Lake Norman Economic Development officials said the partnership has led to business growth and new jobs and investment added to our community.

“The expanded facility will complement our already strong and growing North American manufacturing footprint and enable the company to remain focused on our current product lines as we continue to meet the demands of our customers,” said John McGrath, Pactiv’s president & CEO.

Huntersville Mayor John Aneralla said the local workforce, business climate and quality of life “continue to make Huntersville extremely attractive to companies.

The expansion is being developed by Prairie Brookwood LLC. The Design-Build contractor is Graycor Construction Co.
